About

Jane and Janelle 2A “pop in” visit by Marine Moms Jane and Janelle at Bethesda National Naval Medical Center in October 2005, visiting friends who were there with their combat wounded sons, and then shortly after, to visit their own sons’ friends who were wounded in action became “Marine Moms-Bethesda” in 2007.

You can read about their first visit here: Bethesda Naval Hospital: Our First Visit.

Monthly luncheons, notes of encouragement and support, pantry bags and “niftie-gifties” are provided with the help and support of like-minded individuals, businesses, and organizations across the country.

Our volunteers’ family members are active duty military, IRR, waiting for their medical discharge, have completed their contracts, or “gave their all”, with dozens of tours to Iraq and Afghanistan between them.

Other volunteers are patriotic troop supporters and Veterans supporting their “younger Brothers and Sisters” through Marine Moms-Bethesda.

We aren’t from Bethesda!  Our hands-on luncheon volunteers range from just south of Baltimore to Northern Virginia, D.C., Southern Maryland, and Maryland’s Eastern Shore, points in-between and out of state, with volunteers in the Richmond, VA area who help when we host luncheons at Hunter-Holmes McGuire VAMC.  Additionally, we have volunteers helping us behind the scenes from other parts of the country.

The connection our volunteers all have in common is that we care deeply about our combat wounded, injured, and ill Warriors and their families.

We appreciate, respect, and are thankful for the service and sacrifice of Veterans and their families from past wars and “peace time”, and often serve them at our luncheons.

***Please Note: Marine Moms-Bethesda is not an IRS recognized 501(c)3.  Please contact your financial adviser if this is an issue for you. 100% of funds donated toward our mission directly benefit those we serve.  Administrative, travel costs, and often times food, are out of pocket expenses for our volunteers.

THANK YOU TO OUR DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM!
