Our priority mission has always been serving luncheons to combat patients and their families on the combat surgical ward at Walter Reed-Bethesda (formerly Bethesda Naval Hospital).
The number of combat wounded in-patients decreased substantially in 2016 after slowly declining during the previous few years, so we’ve taken a break to regroup.
Marine Moms-Bethesda’s mission directly enhances the lives of wounded, injured, and ill active duty combat patients and their families, all service branches, at military hospitals and VA medical centers, through luncheons, comfort items, online resources, and emotional support while letting them know our Nation supports them.
Although the war in Iraq and Afghanistan has been declared over, troop are still serving in dangerous places. If they aren’t deployed, they’re training. And they train like they fight. It’s dangerous.
We continue our mission at Walter Reed NMMC by serving combat patients, combat out-patients re-admitted for follow-up surgeries, injured and ill active duty service members, Veterans, Traumatic Brain Injury patients, their families, and Critical Care Unit combat families.
